Photo album from a German doctor who worked on Java during 1953-1955. He took 120 photos on Bali while on vacation there.

Large and interesting photo album with nearly 300 photos. 120 are taken on Bali. The album reflects life in Indonesia in 1953-1955. On Bali he managed to capture all the different features of the life there; cock fights, legong dance, temples, offerings, the nature etc.

This notebook is used by a totok, a person who goes to the Dutch Indies for the first time. In order to prepare him- or herself for his stay in the new country he practices the local language; Bahasa Indonesia.In this notebook he practices grammar and vocabulary. There is also a blanco notebook.

Envelope containing 4 menu-cards of the "m. s. Japara", a ship from the Rotterdamsche Lloyd, during a trip to the Netherlands East Indies in 1955.

Each menu-card features an Island of the Netherlands East Indies; Java, Bali, Sumatra and celebes. On the inside the menu of a particular day is printed. In this case; Saturday September 3 1955 (2), and Saturday september 10 1955 (2).

Rare calendar from 1966 with reproductions of 4 pastels from the Dutch master Rudolf Bonnet. Pls click on each photo see a larger image. Published in 1966 by Tong Tong.

Extremely rare item. Die hard Bonnet collectors must search for years to get their hands on this calendar. Tong Tong was a cultural foundation in The Hague to preserve the Indie legacy. For this purpose they published a magazine (Tong Tong magazine, now called "Moesson") and organized cultural events like exhibitions and fairs. It was during an exhibition of works by Rudolf Bonnet that an idea was born to create a special Rudolf Bonnet-calendar. It is the only calendar ever published about an Indie-oriented artist. Important document and a must for collectors of the dutch painter Auke Sonnega. Sonnega's work is well sought after nowadays and fetches high prices at international auctions. This brochure is an exhibition catalogue of an exhibition of his work in Amsterdam at the Art gallery Van Lier in 1953. Rare item.

These postcards, also known as 'EAG-kiekjes', were the very first postcards depicting Bali in photographs. They date 1920-1930.These postcards were sold in small envelopes, each containing 10 postcard. Each envelope has a theme, like 'rice culture', 'local arts', 'temples'.
